I just found eggs in my females enclosure, I only found 2 of them but they look super good, white and plump. I put them on moist vermiculite. Should I bury these eggs at all? They are around 75-80 degrees(depending on outside temps). Another question I have is, Should I expect her to lay more eggs? I'm going to put her in a smaller tank so that I can more easily find eggs if she is going to lay more and I need the space. Any advice woul dbe great.
Thanks,
Thom O.

Since fruit flies are so easy to culture, I'm planning on (at least some of the time) feeding some pygmies wingless ones. Do you have any tips on keeping them in a feeder cup and not climbing around everywhere?

Thanks I will try that. I found 4 more eggs yesterday. This is CRAZY. I now have 23 eggs. The hardest part of all of this is waiting for the to hatch.

Jon,

These are interesting animals when it comes to breeding.
the females need to be placed with a male only once and that may produce enough fertile eggs for up to one year before a male is needed again..

That is quite the amount of eggs!

I would start offering a few wax worms or butter worms (most can be found at local pet shops or bait shops ) to give them a boost of fat and calories for egg laying.

good luck with the remaining eggs!!

Larry,

it should take a few hours for the eggs to firm up if they are fertile.

if they are very dehydrated, it may take up to a full day to notice a difference.

I would incubate the yellow eggs just in case they are good. i have had many surprises from eggs that i would have normally thrown away just by appearance.

good luck!

How often can pygmy chameleons breed? I have had 4 females for about two months now and I have found a total of 22 eggs. One laid 6 eggs and I lost three of them but I still have 19 eggs and they are all doing great. Thanks.

Thanks. How long should it take for the eggs to rehydrate? Two seem to be plumping up but hardly. And one is a lot larger and is a dark yellow that I can see through. I don't think its any good but I wanted to ask before I do anything with it
