A little known species found in small, tropical areas in Africa, mostly in Tanzania. one of the only Rhampholeon and Rippeoleon species that is common in the pet trade. others have been placed on the CITES list and are no longer imported.
this species usually grows to about 2-3 inches in size. females being slightly larger than the males.
the average life span of these animals is around 3-5 years. with imported animals living significantly less.
all of the pygmies that i have gotten through importing, have lived less than a year. my captive bred babies, however, have lived to nearly 2 years and are still around.
on this website, you will find information that will help you care for and properly maintain your Rhamphoelon Brevicaudatus, or Leaf Tailed Pygmy Chameleon.
